Alfa Laval Moatti L280 is a manual (non-backflushing) lube oil filter for diesel engines, used either as a by-pass filter or as an indicator filter after an automatic filter. Oil enters the inlet body, passes the filter insert and leaves through the outlet body; a differential pressure indicator with an electrical contact warns the engine control system when the insert clogs. The book covers safety, function, operation checks, troubleshooting, the yearly overhaul with tools and spares, installation and parts lists.

Apkopes procedūras

First start

1. Open inlet valve V1, outlet valve V2 and the isolating cocks of the ΔP indicator; close the deaeration valve. 16. lpp.
2. Start oil flow, note the clean ΔP. 16. lpp.
3. Vent the filter through the deaeration valve into a container until oil runs without air, then close it. 16. lpp.
4. Check for external leaks. 16. lpp.

Yearly overhaul

1. Isolate the filter with V1 and V2, drain it; have gasket set, M8 eye bolts, 100 kg sling and hoist ready. 23. lpp.
2. Lift out the insert, clean with solvent (no acid), hot water/HP cleaner and air; inspect. 23. lpp.
3. Reassemble with new greased O-rings and gaskets, vent and check ΔP. 23. lpp.
