JOWA SEAGUARD
Alarm zęzowy 15 ppm (monitor OWS)
JOWA SEAGUARD is a 15 ppm oil content alarm on the discharge of the oily water separator (OWS), approved to IMO MEPC.107(49). It has two ppm alarm outputs, automatic sensor flushing with clean water and an event log on a sealed SD card (GMT date/time, ppm, separator status, valve, alarms, flow). The manual covers technical data, installation and setting the flow through the sensor, the menus (service, settings, log, test/simulation), downloading the log to a PC, maintenance, error codes, P&ID, drawings, spare parts and class certificates.
Procedury obsługi
Weekly sensor cleaning and flushing
- Clean the sensor with the brush from the kit. s. 21
- Enter Service menu → Clean sensor. s. 21
- In the CLEAN SENSOR menu select Flush sensor (flush without zero calibration). s. 21
Monthly zero calibration
- Clean the sensor (see the weekly procedure). s. 21
- Make sure the water is completely clean and free of air bubbles. s. 21Reading before calibration about 0, maximum 2 ppm
- Service menu → Clean sensor → Zero calibration, confirm with YES. s. 21
Alarm check by simulation (MEPC.107(49) §4.2.5)
- Make sure the real value is below 15 ppm — otherwise the simulation will not start. s. 18
- Start the separator (otherwise the simulation is not recorded in the log). s. 19
- Test menu → Simulation, press YES. s. 19
- The reading rises from the real value to 20 ppm (2 s steps); at the set point the alarm trips and the overboard discharge valve closes. s. 19
- After returning to the real value the unit goes back to normal mode; a log entry is created. s. 19During the simulation the real value is still monitored — above 15 ppm a real alarm will trip
Downloading the log to a PC
- Connect a null-modem cable (2 × DB9 female) from the RS232 connector on the power board to the PC COM port; use a USB–RS232 adapter if needed. s. 16
- In a terminal program create a "Bilge alarm" connection, select the COM port, set 38400 baud, 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no flow control. s. 16
- Start capturing text to a file (Transfer → Capture text). s. 16
- On the unit: Log menu → List log files → enter the date → select the entry → Print to PC → format Bill or Sheet. s. 16
- Stop the capture in the terminal and open the saved file. s. 16
Setting the flow through the sensor
- Find the restrictor behind the coupling at the sample outlet (standard 1 mm orifice). s. 7
- If the flow is too low, drill the orifice 0.5 mm larger and check again; repeat in 0.5 mm steps. s. 7Nominal 2 l/min
- The restrictor must always be in the outlet before the coupling is connected. s. 7
