Fuel density at 15 °C and bunker quantity
The bunker delivery note gives density at 15 °C; a tank sounding gives volume at tank temperature. Multiply the volume by the VCF to get volume at 15 °C, then by density in air (density at 15 °C minus 1.1 kg/m³) to get tonnes.

How it is calculated
ASTM D1250 Table 54B (generalised products): α = K₀/ρ₁₅² + K₁/ρ₁₅, for fuel oils and gas oils (ρ₁₅ ≥ 838.5) K₀ = 186.9696 and K₁ = 0.4862, for jet fuels (787.5–838.5) K₀ = 594.5418 and K₁ = 0; VCF = exp(−α·Δt·(1 + 0.8·α·Δt)), Δt = t − 15. Mass = V₁₅ × (ρ₁₅ − 1.1). Printed tables are rounded and may differ in the 4th decimal.
Reference only. The maker's manual and class rules take priority.
